  15. This is a function key (FKEY) to convert text stored on the clipboard to uppercase or lowercase. Capslock key must be down to convert to UPPERCASE!

  21. This FKEY has been developed on a Macintosh II using Think Pascal 4.02.
  22. Currently it has only been tested on this Mac II,  but I see no reason it shouldn't work on most other Macintoshes.

  38. Installation

  40. Use Resedit to copy the FKEY resource with ID 0 to any application in which you require the ability to convert text.
  41. 1. Open Resedit (2.x or higher).
  42. 2. Open the enclosed resedit file called 'CaseConverter FKEY' using the file menu
  43. 3. Select the icon called FKEY.
  44. 4. Choose 'Copy' from the 'File' menu.
  45. 5. Close the file called 'CaseConverter FKEY'
  46. 6. Open your application (your text editor/wp) from Resedit using the file menu
  47. 7. Choose 'Paste' from the 'File' menu

  51. Operation

  53. Ever typed in a lot of text and suddenly found that you had the Capslock key down AND DON'T WANT THE TEXT IN UPPERCASE. WELL UNTIL NOW THERE WAS NOTHING YOU COULD DO ABOUT IT, OTHER THAN SELECT, DELETE, AND TYPE IT IN AGAIN.

  55. ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE FKEY CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
  56. 1. JUST SELECT THE ERRONEOUS TEXT
  57. 2. DO A COMMAND-SHIFT-0 {ZERO}
  58. 3. WITH THE TEXT STILL SELECTED DO A 'PASTE' {COMMAND-V}
  59. 4. the text should then be replaced by the same text in lowercase.
  60. Problem licked!

  62. A variation on this process will allow you to convert lowercase text to uppercase, simply make sure the capslock key is down before you do the command-shift-0 {zero}. 
  63. 1. just select the erroneous text
  64. 2. engage capslock.
  65. 2. do a command-shift-0 {zero}
  66. 3. with the text still selected do a 'paste' {command-v}
  67. 4. THE TEXT SHOULD THEN BE REPLACED BY THE SAME TEXT IN LOWERCASE.
  68. PROBLEM LICKED AGAIN!

  70. REMEMBER THE FKEY WILL ONLY CONVERT THE TEXT ON THE CLIPBOARD. IT DOES NOT PASTE.
  71. IF ANY ERROR OCCURS YOUR MACINTOSH WILL BEEP.
